Google's Matt Cutts Gives Some Basic SEO Tips

-posted by Paul on July 3, 2008

The modern search engine is a loud and raging concert. Trying to get a potential customer base to see your site is like standing in the middle of the pack, and trying to get the drummer's autograph. Fortunately, there are ways to get you into the front row, so your site receives the attention it deserves.

Last week, USA Today's Jefferson Graham interviewed Matt Cutts of Google on the issue of search engine optimization. Matt was gracious enough to highlight five easy ways to help improve your website visibility.

According to Matt, the following are five of the most important areas to address on your website:

  • Ensure that you clearly denote your query phrase in the content of your page.
  • Fill in your title and meta tags with accurate information that reflects the given page's content.
  • Have other sites link back to your site.
  • Keep your content fresh.
  • Analyze your site's metrics to tailor your content to match the interests of your customers.

Since visibility is absolutely paramount in driving traffic to your site, Integrated New Media is committed to finding every possible avenue to assist you. So if your site is struggling to get its time in the spotlight, let us help.
